Tuning Up for the 2018 SUMMER READING PROGRAM!

TN_slogan

Have YOU registered for the 2018 Summer Reading Program??

There’s no better time like the present!

This year, our theme is Libraries Rock!

Our program will run from June 7th to July 12th.

We have events for all ages!! 🎧

Register TODAY by calling or visiting your library.

KIDS: Rock your summer with Reading!

Beginning June 7th, preschoolers through 8th graders, READ READ READ!

Once registered, you’ll check out books from our library and read them. Once you bring them back, your librarians will check them in and keep a record of how many you’ve read.

We will also be holding two events per week for various ages throughout the span of the program.

At our finale on July 12th, we’ll announce the top three winners from each of our age groups. (Preschool-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th) There will be prizes and drawings throughout the program as well, so attending events is always a great idea.

TEENS: Missing Melody Mondays! 🎶

We will be holding a “Finish the Lyrics” event weekly during the program. 👨‍🎤 👩‍🎤

Each Monday beginning June 11th, the library staff will post several lines of a song on the wall at the library.

(Family friendly, totally age appropriate lyrics, we might add) 🙂

Come to the library any day that week, check out at least one book, and finish the lyric by reciting (or singing) the next line to a librarian! (You won’t receive extra bonus points for singing, but your librarians will sure be entertained, and might even sing along.)   🎤

You will get your name entered into a drawing for the chance to win a prize. Each prize winner’s name will be pulled on the Friday of the same week. There will be a different set of lyrics each week. No registration necessary! You don’t need to be present to win! You can play more than once!

ADULTS:   🎼

Your chance to win a weekly prize is also simple!  Visit the library weekly starting June 11th, check out at least one book, and vote for your favorite genre of music! Your vote is your entry into the chance to win a pretty cool prize! 🎁

Prizes range from gift cards for the teens and adults to toys, games, and gadgets for the kids!

So what are you waiting for??

Register, Read, and Rock out this summer!!

NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK! 📚

April 9th through April 13th is a special time for libraries across the United States.

📚  📚   It’s NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK!  📚 📚

We’re excited to reveal our line-up!

All week long, when you return overdue items, the fines on those items will be WAIVED! That’s right, POOF! No fines!

Monday April 9th: Expect a post on our social media pages looking into National Library Week itself, complete with a shout-out to the new libraries in our book-lovin’ country!

Tuesday April 10th: We’ll be thanking all our wonderful patrons who have donated an astounding number of books and movies to enrich our library’s collection. We will also have the guidelines of what exactly your library looks for in donations.

Wednesday April 11th is NATIONAL BOOKMOBILE DAY!

We’ll be playing a nifty interactive game of I-Spy with you on that day. Keep your eyes peeled around Watford City for our beautiful bookmobile. If you spot it, hop on board for your chance to look for a Golden Ticket! Finding one of these shiny tickets ensures you will win a prize.

Thursday April 12th: The library will be holding a very special library-filled Storytime that morning at 11:30am. We will also have a “Booktable Blowout!” Come into the library with a bag, and buy any 5 books on our sale table for just $1.00 !!!

Friday April 13th: We’ll end this week with a flourish! This day at 6pm, the library will be holding an Author Book Talk with local author Sara Lawrence Cook, co-author of The Jinn and the Sword. This tale of intrigue, mystery, romance, and supernatural shivers is full of relevant themes and beauty galore. Come prepared to learn and enjoy!

There’s always something to see, do, or read at your library! We’ll see you soon!
